My experience spans decades in the film business, including co-founding the award winning media company Grandview Island with my partner, Carol McCann, in 1992.

In the course of my career, I have focused my skills as director, producer and cameraman on projects as diverse as advertising, political campaigns, corporate image films, and documentaries. I love to combine an eye for cinematic lighting with a hands-on knowledge of every aspect of production, and I have produced and directed film and video for clients throughout the US, as well as in global locations as far flung as Hong Kong, mainland China, Morocco, and numerous locations throughout Europe and South America. I built my career from the ground up; starting as the most junior member of the crew, I progressed to gaffer and lighting director. My journey included many years as a lighting director working in close collaboration with the renowned documentary team of David and Albert Maysles. In addition to participation in the creation of the timeless documentary "Winter Soldier", I also served as Director of Lighting for the classic film, “Pumping Iron”.

My talents as a filmmaker, coupled with an award-winning track record in long form projects have earned me a reputation for getting compelling performances from some of the world’s best-known and most influential citizens. I have had the privilege to engage with such luminaries as Henry Kissinger, Bill Gates, Yo Yo Ma, Bill Ford, Joan Rivers, Mike Bloomberg, Lady GaGa and Eli Manning to name just a few.

Equipment Packages

My equipment package is built with an emphasis on flexibility. My camera/sound packages are designed for quality and portability. The small grip and electric package will cover many productions, fits in a van or even in my SUV. The expanded package is built to roll on and off lift gate trucks and into freight elevators. I will sub rent any additional equipment needed. I also can pick up any expendables needed and stock many.
